In Canada various Consumer Reporting Acts indicate that credit bureau information on a consumer may be obtained for employment purposes. The employer or prospective employer must first advise the individual in writing of their intention to obtain credit bureau information for this purpose. Informed Hiring's standard consent form covers credit bureau searches in addition to searches involving education verification, employment history, driver record, criminal record or any other areas relevant to employment with your firm. |

For criminal record searches, a separate and specific consent form is also required for CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) processing. |

Driver Record search procedures vary from province to province and occasionally a separate waiver is required. In this case, you will be notified by our office and provided with the appropriate consent form for signing by the candidate or, if you prefer, the candidate can be contacted directly by our office for signing. |
